Large expansive pine ceilings can be oppressive and darken a room.
No longer fashionable, these look wonderful painted white while also lightening and brightening a room making it appear larger.
The Process. . .
- Sanding is not required, just a good undercoat, applied with a roller and a brush for the grooves.
- After the undercoat is applied, any major grooves will be obvious. Apply white painters mate (silicone) to fill in these gaps.
- Follow with 2 / 3 coats of a water-based Matt finish paint or a good quality ceiling paint – once the undercoat and painters mate is dry, of course. This will allow for good coverage as well as a seamless and professional finish.
